Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan – Halton

This member-based, not-for-profit organization was founded in 1996 with thirteen volunteer chapters across Canada. CW4WAfghan is a non-religious, non-political, federally registered charity. We believe that individuals, as global citizens, working in solidarity and with integrity of purpose and action, can affect positive change in the world through education and the promotion of social justice and human rights. Our goals are to advance education and educational opportunities for Afghan women and their families and to educate Canadians about human rights in Afghanistan. Donor funded projects fall within our two main field program areas: (1) Community Libraries and Literacy Programs; and (2) Investments in Public Education. Specific examples are; providing teacher training programs, adult home literacy programs, mini libraries and science kits for schools and developing online, open source teacher resources Please visit us at:  www.CW4WAfghan.ca
